How charges happen, and how to change one
Where in the app: Billing · Week attendance · Homestay request · Owner profile
With Bill clients through BarkBus on, you do not raise charges by hand. BarkBus bills from what actually happened, at the rates you set in Company → Billing & pricing.
Pack school, every Monday. At 6am each Monday (New Zealand time) BarkBus charges every owner for the week just gone: their weekly or day rate, with the away-week rate for a week their dogs attended nothing. Before then you can check the week:
-
Side menu → Billing → Week attendance (it opens on this week).

-
Use ← Prior week and Next week → to pick a week. Each dog's days show as Attended, Absent, No-show or Pending. Fix any that are wrong; tick Anomalies only to see just the odd ones.
-
Bill this week charges the week shown now, without waiting for Monday. It is safe to press twice: anything already billed is skipped.
Homestays, when you price them. On a homestay request, under "When does this go on their account?":
- Bill now — the stay goes on their account as soon as it is priced.
- Bill on a date — nothing shows until the day you pick (for a stay booked months out).
One-offs, by you. Open the owner → Billing & balance:
- + Charge — an induction, training, a lead or collar.
- + Credit — a goodwill credit or a write-off.
Changing a charge. On the owner's statement, each charge has:
- Waive — take the whole charge off.
- Adjust… — take part of it off.
- Paid cash — they paid you by hand; it is marked paid.
An entry you added by hand (a credit, a waiver, a cash payment) has Undo, for when it was a mistake.
Payments that come in from the bank pay off the owner's oldest charges first. They are matched to the owner, not to a particular invoice.
